The Horstmann Technique is
a gentle bodywork technique that facilitates healing and
wellness through the release of blockages. These blockages
usually manifest as pain or stiffness, which may be physically,
emotionally or spiritually based. An ancient Chinese belief
is that suppressed negative experiences are held in the
muscular system of the pelvic or sacral area of the body
and also in the shoulders and feet.
It can lead to positive structural
changes as well as the release of emotional blockages locked
within the physical body. Behavioural problems associated
with energetic, emotional and physical causes can all be
addressed and released. The Horstmann Technique incorporates
ileosacral release, arm/shoulder release and foot release
therapies and was developed by Trish Trowbridge, an Australian
natural therapist.
ILEOSACRAL RELEASE
Ileosacral Release is a simple but effective therapy that
often produces rapid positive results for structural problems
and blockages in the lower back and sacrum. This technique
is particularly good for lower back and hip problems and
can also facilitate the release of blockages relating to
other areas of the body.
ARM/SHOULDER RELEASE
Arm/shoulder release can provide immediate relief from tension
in the upper body. It is excellent for RSI, tennis-elbow,
frozen shoulder and neck pain or stiffness.
FOOT RELEASE
The Foot Release technique is a unique, simple and remarkably
effective method for releasing somatic blockages using foot
reflexes.
